Utility Billing FAQs
Are there methods of paying my bill without incurring a debit/credit card fee?

Yes,  There are several methods to pay that do incur a fee including:

  • Automatic draft of your bank account (see our website for the form and details)
  • Cash at our administration office's Welcome Center (we do not recommend leaving cash in our payment dropbox)
  • Check via mail, payment drop box, or in person at our administration office's Welcome Center
  • Bill pay options via your bank (if your bank offers this service)
What is the latest time to pay my bill to avoid a late fee or nonpayment fee?

Many customers think the deadline time to pay a bill is 12:00 midnight; however SGWASA uses a 5:00pm deadline.

The due date is shown on the front of your bill.  You must pay your bill by 5:00pm on the date the bill is due to avoid a late fee.

The nonpayment dates are shown on the back of your bill.  You must pay your past due bill by 5:00pm on the nonpayment date to avoid a nonpayment fee and disconnection of services.

Many customers think

Can I pay using my debit or credit card?

Yes, Sgwasa accepts VISA, MasterCard, and Discover card payments in our Welcome Center and online.  These payments incur a processing fee by our merchant services provider.  These fees are not assessed by or collected by SGWASA and cannot be refunded by SGWASA should you accidentally make a payment that you wish to reverse/refund.

Can I choose paperless (e-Billing) rather than getting a paper bill in the mail?

Yes, You are encouraged to choose the E-billing option within your customer portal.  You will receive a notification via email when a new bill is available and posted to your account; eliminating the delay associated with a printed bill via mail.  You can also review a pdf of your bill anytime using your customer portal.

Payments are due by 5:00pm on the due date. Payments received after 5:00pm on the due date are assessed a late fee.  Payments received after 5:00pm on the nonpayment (cutoff) date are assessed a nonpayment fee and are subject to disconnection of service. These dates are reflected on your bill and our website.
